Benchmarking Opportunity for Canadian Colleges & Universities

For many years, the Canadian Parking Association’s College/University Sector has attempted to gather meaningful benchmarking data that provides practical statistics for planning and development.

Would you or your institution be interested in participating in a new auxiliary assessment and benchmarking initiative NACAS developed in partnership with Sheridan College?

This Auxiliary Performance & Experience (APEX) platform provides standardized customer experience assessment and benchmarking across all core University/College auxiliary services. It combines quantitative and qualitative student sentiment with diagnostic prioritization to identify gaps (for parking this includes service, space availability, value, pricing, etc.).

This program is a first of its kind to offer valuable insights regarding parking and other service areas on your campus to support decision-making at your institution.

More details and registration information are available at https://nacas.org/apex, where you can review the survey modules on the site under the ‘Sample Modules’ tab. Parking is of course one of the available modules, along with the following:

  • Dining / meal plan
  • Print / copy / mail
  • Bookstore
  • Retail
  • Housing
  • ID Cards
  • Vending

Any of the modules can be selected and distributed to your students for response, making this a comprehensive survey for your school to use. To date, 30 institutions have registered and spots are still available for the pilot. The more institutions that participate, the better the data sample will be at the conclusion. Most institutions will launch their survey to students in March or April, but timing can be flexible.

Please feel free to reach out to Dean Langan (cc’d) at Sheridan College if you have any questions or would like to discuss fit or scope in more detail.

The cost to participate in the pilot is $3,500 USD for NACAS members and $4,500 USD for non-NACAS members. If five or more CPA Member institutions agree to participate, the costs for each category will be reduced by $1,000. And if you include all campus ancillary departments, the value can be immeasurable.

Be sure to mention that you received this opportunity through your CPA membership to be considered for the discount rates to participate.
